The portion sizes are generous, but don’t be shy if you want to order two entrees. If you are crunched for time, you should consider eating dinner at the Lido deck buffet or another venue offering a more casual experience. Carnival’s dining rooms consist of varied menus and experienced and attentive staff. Having dinner in the main dining room (otherwise known as MDR to the seasoned cruiser) is a three-course affair.
Main Dining Room Wine List
Rudi’s Seagrill is a high-end seafood restaurant found on Carnival Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee. They also have a dedicated cocktail menu so you can pair a special drink with your entree. This bar may be confusing because Carnival uses odd naming for their venues. While many ships have “Guy’s Pig & Anchor BBQ,” few have the actual Smokehouse and Brewhouse, which has cocktails. The Smokehouse/Brewhouse is a sit-down restaurant with a large bar serving some great cocktails. They even have a brewery right inside this bar where they make their own beer!
Side dishes
This menu is the wine list you’ll find in most of the main dining rooms across the Carnival fleet. If you prefer a cocktail, you can usually use the Atrium Bar Menu. The Heroes Tribute Bar and Lounge is a new venue from Carnival that honors the men and women that have served our country.
Carnival STEAKHOUSE Menu
Emeril’s Bistro 717 is on Carnival Jubilee and focuses on seafood. Whether you're craving Creole boiled shrimp (market price), fried oysters ($6), or crab louie salad ($10), you're sure to find a dish to appease your taste buds. Either way, whether you're craving a breakfast burrito or fresh tacos, you're sure to get your Mexican fix here. Like Guy's, BlueIguana is included in the cost of your cruise fare. Note that only longer sailings (i.e., those that are 6+ nights) have two "Feast" nights, with the second having complimentary broiled lobster tails on the menu.

Dining reservations can be canceled at any time (before and after boarding) without penalties. The only exception is Chef’s Table (VIP dining package) which charges a USD 25 pp cancellation fee for cancelations within 24 hours of the reservation. Specialty dining reservations on the ship can also be made. For an added cost, you’ll find a selection of dessert drinks listed at the bottom of the menu, along with cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, and the “Art of Tea” selection.

La Strada Grill is available only on the Venezia on deck 5 aft. Ji Ji’s Asian Kitchen is available on the Horizon, Panorama, Sunshine, and Vista. Note that you can also ask for a custom bowl if you don’t like these selections. The RedFrog Tiki Bar is a supersized version of the RedFrog Rum Bar that’s on most other Carnival ships. You can find this two-story venue on the Carnival Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee. Il Viaggio is a new “elevated” dining experience currently only available on the Carnival Venezia.
Cucina Del Capitano Menu
Ships that don’t currently have JavaBlue still have a stand-alone coffee shop under a different name but prices and beverage selection will vary. On Excel-class ships (Mardi Gras, Celebration, and Jubilee), Java Blue Cafe also offers sandwiches and snacks throughout the day. The steakhouse is a staple on almost every Carnival cruise ship. On older ships, it may have a different name, like “David’s Steakhouse,” but the drink menus are similar. For lunch, this venue serves a small menu of appetizers, soups, and pizza, along with a create your own pasta bowl section.

Dinner at this venue is also complimentary for a limited time; though, you will notice a few differences in the menu. Once again, the dinner menu at this restaurant rotates each evening like most cruise lines offering a wide array of starters, entrees, and desserts. The menu also features nightly fresh fruit and a selection of ice cream and sorbets.
"Desserts and Cheeses" menu always includes several ice cream flavors ("Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry Butter Pecan"), sherbet ("Orange, Pineapple, Lime"), cheese ("Port Salut, Brie, Gouda, Imported Swiss, Danish Bleu"). The ship's LIGHT LUNCH menu (complimentary, low-calorie) is available at the Serenity Bar on Sea Days only. MDR menu's "Emeri Selects” are Lagasse-selected items including Shrimp Stuffed Crab Cakes; Beef Carpaccio, Coffee Roasted Duck Breast; BBQ Salmon (grilled in foil).
While each restaurant has its own menu, some rotate daily, such as the menus in the Main Dining Rooms. It's worth noting that there will be limitations on the number of entrees guests can order, with a maximum of two entrees per guest. Should guests wish to order more than two entrees, they will incur an additional charge of $5 per entree. However, the appetizers and desserts will remain unlimited, providing guests with a diverse dining experience while managing food consumption. Follow these links to see the new "American TABLE" wine list prices and the feature "American TABLE" drink menu prices of cocktails offered at dinner in the Main Dining Rooms. For guests on the go, new "breakfast express" is offered on port days with orange juice, hickory-smoked bacon/sausage, pastries and eggs, all prepared within 25 minutes.
It might, for example, be Pizzeria del Capitano or Pizza Pirate. From my experience, pizza offerings vary greatly, as not all types are cooked at the same time. Carnival chefs are also addressing larger portion offerings for certain entrees, along with additional vegetarian options and entrée salads. By joining forces with Emeril Lagasse, Carnival Cruise Line aims to elevate its onboard dining options and provide guests with exceptional culinary experiences. The partnership strengthens Carnival's commitment to delivering high-quality and memorable moments for its passengers, combining the expertise of a renowned chef with the expertise of a leading cruise company. On special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas, Carnival Cruise Line offers festive holiday editions of the main dining room menus to enhance the celebratory spirit on board.
All passengers ordering items from the room service menu between 10 pm - 6 am are now charged. Unlike most of CCL's competitors, the company still offers free of charge room service options between 6 am - 10 pm. The new daytime menu has both complimentary/free of charge items (salads, sandwiches, desserts, juices, teas, coffees) and extra charge items (pizza, chicken wings and tenders, fries, seafood, beverages/sodas, beers).
On Carnival Jubilee, Cucina Del Capitano is free for the whole sailing. On Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras, your first meal is included, with additional visits at a cost of $8 per person. The other ships with this venue currently charge a fixed price of $24 per adult. There are some complimentary breakfast items and the rest are à la carte.
For example, on one of the dinner menus, the Pappardelle with Braised Lamb is listed as an appetizer and also, further down, as an entree. In other words, you aren’t finding 60 entirely new entrees on the revised menus, but rather some which are entirely new, and others that were previously offered by have been tweaked in one way or another. This means that a cruiser could quickly eat in the complimentary dining room every night of their sailing without ever ordering the same thing twice.
At breakfast, you'll even find shrimp and grits or bananas Foster crepes. Emeril's Bistro 1937 on Carnival Celebration also spotlights rotating international dishes daily in addition to these Nawlins favorites. Here are the newest fleet-wide dinner menus on Carnival for a 7 or 8-night cruise (you can find the menus for 3-night cruises HERE, 4-night cruises HERE, 5-night cruises HERE, 6-night cruises HERE, and 14-night cruises HERE). During the day (10 AM to 6 AM), various items are available at a la carte prices.
